Tip: Do you love scheduling Focus Time on your Calendar? Love how it automatically declines new events so you don't have to? Wish you could also prevent being interrupted by chats? Do you love your Do Not Disturb schedule in Chat but sometimes need to add another block for Focus Time?
Set your Chat to mute automatically during scheduled Focus Time!
How to use: Create a new event in Calendar (or double click!) and navigate to Focus time. Make sure "Do Not Disturb" is checked and your Chat will automatically be muted when that time slot starts, that's it!
Tip: Are you running a virtual meeting where you have a guest speaker? An all team meeting with multiple presenters? An offsite where different presenters are leading different sessions from the same deck?
Sick of saying "Next slide please"?
Use co-presenters in Slides!
How to use: After presenting your screen click Start slideshow and then the "Add person" button. From there click on the three dots next to a person's name and select "Add participant as co-presenter". The co-presenter will be able to navigate the slides and start and stop media within the presentation!
Tip: Do you love how your email about a comment links you directly to that specific part of the Doc? Sick of telling someone page numbers or headers to navigate to where you want them to go? Do you love linking to a specific range in Sheets and want to do the same in Docs? Want to share someone else's comment with others? Want a friendly way to "bump up" a comment to someone outside of the regular comment workflow (i.e. Hi! Please remember to reply to this comment in our team Doc before the meeting!)?
Send a link directly to a Doc comment!
How to use: In a Doc in a comment, click the three dots and drop down to "Get link to this comment". The link will automatically be copied to your clipboard and then you can paste the link or hyperlink elsewhere. When a person clicks on the link (assuming Doc permissions) - they will open the Doc and be sent straight to that comment.
Tip: Are you sending an email and referring to a specific part of a Sheet that you want to which you'd like to call attention? Don't waste time changing the background color, trying to explain row and column numbers, etc.
Just send a custom link where that part of the sheet is ALREADY selected for the person when they open the doc!
How to use: Highlight what you want to be auto-selected in the sheet > Right click to "Get Link to This Range" . The link is copied to your clipboard - paste wherever you'd like!
The whole sheet will show up (sharing permissions contingent) but the range you selected will be selected for them too
Tip: Are you in a big meeting and want to mute yourself by default? Find yourself fumbling around to unmute when you want to talk? Want an easy way to say something then go back on mute so no one hear your dog barking?
Turn on push to talk in Meet!
How to use: In a Meet call go to Settings > Audio > and toggle on Push to talk. Then, when the mic is turned off, hold down the spacebar to talk and release the spacebar to go back on mute.
Push to talk only works when Meet is the current tab (can't navigate away from the tab). After turning it on in the settings, push to talk stays on by default for your next calls and is activated once you mute for the first time.
Keyboard Shortcut of the Week: ⌘/Cntrl + d: Mute your microphone in Meet
Tip: Do you want your Chrome browser to have a little flair or color? Do you want your new tab page to have your top visited sites or specific shortcuts? Want to see recipe ideas or online shopping carts you have open?
Customize your Chrome browser!
How to use: Open a new tab in Chrome and click the Customize Chrome pencil icon at the bottom. Or type Customize Chrome in your browser bar and click on the pop up button.
From there choose a Chrome theme (even upload your own image!) and change other settings to customize your browser!
Keyboard Shortcut of the Week: Cmmd/Cntrl + T in Chrome: Open new tab
Tip: You already know how to format your Chats and you may follow the go/nohello method of sending exactly what you need in a Chat. You may want an option to do a multi paragraph in a single chat with spacing.

Hi, How are you today?
Wondering if you could help me expedite the approval of these ads for my client? They are trying to run a campaign that starts on Monday.
Thanks!
Much nicer!
How to use: In a Chat text box, hold Shift as you press Enter. Instead of sending the Chat, a new line will be created in your Chat message.
That's it!
